Today I had an educational day. Some new students have moved into the hostel and assuming they want to speak in English rather than Spanish out of class I may have to be social from now on. So I decided to end my week of introvert bliss with some stuff I'd really rather do by myself.
The Museo de Oro (Gold Museum) and the Planetarium were perfect for a cloudier, cooler day. And the displays all had English translations so it was a much needed rest from half understanding what's happening.
I know my extrovert friends won't understand, but a week spent largely by myself is a rare gift (when emotional health is good). I enjoy being an observer, I am comfortable with this lens; a thinker and outsider. There is something freeing about not understanding the words around me, like a soundtrack in the background, taking me one step further away to view this world from a distance.
It's a temporary state, one to visit and take in a breath.
